Job Description

Summary of Duties: Responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of application software and supporting mission critical business applications within the TAG IT merchandise accounting systems group. Participation in the complete system development life cycle, including post implementation support. Provide technical consulting to management, business users, and work closely with other developers as a mentor. Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and customer requirements to design and build Internet solutions utilizing multiple technologies. Maintain and modify web applications, making approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Perform application server maintenance tasks including software/hardware upgrades, patching, security configuration, batch process maintenance and migration to new platforms. Responsible for mentoring and coaching developers and/or Professional Apprentices as well as training and dissemination of knowledge with the development teams. Actively participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations to ensure compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy. Qualifications: At least a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field of study and at least five (5) years' experience as a Program Analyst, Application Developer, Software Engineer, Software Developer, Computer Engineer or related occupation. Also requires experience in the following:

  • 5 years working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • 3 years working with customers to build and formulate business requirements.
  • 5 years Web Application Development Experience in Java/J2EE environment including Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), Java Server Pages (JSP), MVC frameworks, AJAX/JavaScript (JQuery), CSS, XML Technologies, Spring Framework, Hibernate and HTML.
  • 5 years in an Enterprise Database Management System such as Oracle.
  • 2 years PL/SQL.
  • 2 years Source Control environments such as SVN or GIT.
  • 2 years configuring application servers such as Jboss and Tomcat.
  • 3 years Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting
  • 2 years creating automated build scripts (Ant/Gradle).
